If Actions Speak Louder Than Words .....
No-one in Public Relations can truly guarantee results because Editors
control what they publish. However, these results speak for themselves:

  • Secured 2 WINS & 1 x HIGHLY COMMENDED Global Banking Technology Awards for my client Wincor Nixdorf, and their clients HSBC and Barclays Bank. I wrote four award entries. With 324 entries worldwide, 3 out of 4 was a great result!

  • At Microsoft’s UK .NET press launch; Secured pole position for Aris Education's Tech Guru. He was the only non-Microsoft person representing the ENTIRE UK IT Training industry to British media!

  • Gained UK Microsoft GOLD Partner Status for Aris Education with 3 x 3,000 word case studies on training programmes they did for Dresdner Kleinwort, Wasserstein, Rebus HR and Microsoft. The key was proving ROI

  • Consequently, raised Aris Education from 18th to 9th place in the IT Training industry rankings in one year (independently verified)

  • Boosted a company's turnover from £25M to £28M with 2 years focused PR

  •  Gained 52 x return on investment (ROI) of PR budget

  • Doubled media coverage versus competitor (and previous year)

  • Uncovering a powerful human Interest story generated national media coverage and a sellout in 6 weeks of the Publisher's annual sales forecast of books!

  • Secured prime-time regional news coverage of a children's Holiday Activity Programme resulting in a sellout of 3,000 places in 3 days. Then cancelled the advertising campaign!

Outsource UK MD Paul Jameson was interviewed SIX times on Budget Day on UK National TV, just after the Chancellor of The Exchequer Gordon Brown, each time he spoke to the country.

TV exposure meant Paul's friends and more importantly, his business associates noticed. As part of a concerted PR campaign, TV was a quantum leap in raising brand awareness of this specialist IT Recruitment consultant. Rhona handled joint PR with Outsource UK client Nationwide Building Society and other blue chip accounts of theirs, which helped build the business.

TV coverage and a sustained investment in PR backed his salespeople, so Paul was able to go on to acquire two other recruitment agencies, extending the company's geographical reach across Southern and Central England.

Divorce-Online's MD Mark Keenan became a noted industry spokesperson. SKY TV asked him to comment on Sir Paul McCartney's divorce from Heather Mills as a result of one press release!

ONE single press release with four angles got major coverage in National newspapers & radio. The particular story had e-commerce, legal, men's issues and women's issues angles.

It appeared twice in The Guradian on the same day in different sections, achieved an unusual number of mentions and interviews on national radio and led to case studies being requested by The Daily Mail.

As a result, and due to meticulous data capture of enquiries and sales leads by our client, Divorce Online's turnover increased from £312,000 to £453,000 p.a on the back of it!

So a single press release acted as a catalyst and "Tipping Point" in terms of the company's business growth. The ROI on that press release was 221 x the investment - and that's without calculating the impact of online media coverage!

This is a perfect demonstration of the real Power of PR in adding to a company's bottom line and profits!

PR helped increase Mainline Employment's turnover from £12M to £15M in 3 years.

Seen in the background here is Sandy Martin (RIP), BBC Radio Swindon.

It was a joy to work with Stella Weeks, MD of Mainline Employment. She is a very astute businesswoman. Mainline Employment's USP is that Stella used the carrot not the stick to motivate her employees.

If staff achieved their sales targets, they got treated to trips to Paris or whale watching in Iceland. When I started working with her, she decided to treat staff to a weekend in New York. This was a gift for a PR storyline for several years. Mention Mainline Employment to any newsdesk and they immediatley remembered this hook and gave media coverage to the company's next story.

After training and regular interviews on BBC Radio, MD Stella Weeks became BBC TV Points West "Go To" person for national industry comment in the Recruitment industry.

Mainline Employment won a Wiltshire Business award on the back of an entry I wrote for them, and wisely, Stella decided to sponsor a category of the awards. This meant that as a judge, she gained access to a wide range of award entrants in the following years - her business grew significantly as a result!  Well played!

Calyxpix created a far more interesting shot than a "Grip & Grin", to announce the RHS Malvern "practice" garden would be relocated here after the show.

Raised £75,000 sponsorship from HOMEBASE for Garden Designer Philip Osman to exhibit at RHS Hampton Court. The Royal Horticultural Society genuinely couldn't understand how I managed to persuade HOMEBASE to enter because they had spent 10 years trying to persuade Homebase to take part!

The secret ingredient is that I showed Homebase "what was in it for them" in terms of potential sales uplift of specific product lines they might feature in the garden. The maths made sense to the most hardened product managers!

In so doing, I was able to be the perfect bridge between a blue chip company and a "one-man band" garden designer, who otherwise would not have been able to secure such a high level of trust and investment.
